Puca, the dam of 2023 Kentucky Derby winner Mage, 2024 Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch and 2025 Kentucky Derby third-place finisher Baeza, has delivered a filly by Good Magic.

The filly is a full sister to both Mage and Dornoch, as well as a half-sister to Baeza, who is by McKinzie. Her birth was announced Monday by John Stewart of Resolute Racing, who purchased Puca for $2.9 millin at the Keeneland November sale in 2023. Her birth was previously reported by Joe Nevills of Paulick Report.

Puca, a Big Brown half-sister to Grade 1 winner Finnegans Wake, was a stakes winner and also Grade 2-placed during her own racing career. However, through the last three 3-year-old classic seasons, she has emerged as a superior producer.

In addition to Mage, Dornoch and Baeza – the three foals who have made her the first broodmare to have Kentucky Derby starters in three straight years – she has one other foal of racing age. Gunning, a daughter of Gun Runner, won three times in 2022 and 2023 and hit the board twice in stakes company.

Puca also has a yearling by Good Magic out of Puca. The colt is owned in partnership between MyRacehorse and Resolute Racing.
