Cathy and Bob Zollars’ favored Daddy Nose Best, unhurried early and without racing room, launched a bold bid once clear when set down for the drive and was up to best Diamond Racing et al.’s Adios Nardo in Saturday’s Grade III Col. E. R. Bradley Handicap at about 1 1/16-miles over a yielding Stall-Wilson turf course at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

Trained by Steve Asmussen and ridden by Rosie Napravnik, Daddy Nose Best paid $5.80, $3.40 and $2.80, toured the distance in 1:46.54 and increased his career earnings to $942,303 with his ninth win in 24 career starts.

“I was very, very blocked at the top of the stretch,” said Napravnik, “had a lot to do in the lane but he finished really nicely for me.”

Adios Nardo, who prompted the pace under Mark Guidry, gained the advantage in mid-stretch, could not withstand the winner late but held the place by a half paying $6.80 and $3.80.

Moyglare Stud’s Speaking of Which rallied late to gain the show position and returned $3.20.

Charles Craig Smith’s String King made the pace along the inside with splits of 24.41 and 51.02, but had no rally when challenged.
