D' Funnybone Returns in Sir Shackleton

Multiple graded stakes winner D' Funybone makes his first start in more than seven months when he returns to action in Sunday's Sir Shackleton Handicap at Gulfstream Park. The six and one-half furlong event has also attracted Regal Ransom and Capt. Candyman Can.

D' Funnybone won the Hutcheson and Swale over the local main track last year and Edgar Prado takes his usual seat aboard the Rick Dutrow runner. He is capale of firing a fresh shot but might not be fully cranked for this.

Safe Trip has two sharp races over the local strip and might have a tactical/fitness edge in this spot. The gelded 4-year-old son of Tale of the Cat is on the upswing for Chad Brown and might offer a hint of value.

Capt. Candyman Can made a successful return to the racing wars at Tampa Bay in February. The consistent stretch runner has a nose for the wire but has a cold jockey-trainer team in his corner.

Ibboyee had a good rivalry going with D' Funnybone last year and the Todd Pletcher runner has not been seen since October. John Velazquez rides the tactical NY-bred.

Godolphin has '09 Super Derby hero Regal Ransom ready for action. The 5-year-old horse is firing bullets for this and reunites with winning pilot Alan Garcia.

Marty Wolfson trainee Coffee Boy needs a wake up call. He was in fine form last summer but disappointed in his graded return in February.

Nathan's H Q has never raced beyond six furlongs but he has speed to burn and is 2-for-2 at the Gulf.

Our Edge could not keep up with Big Drama and Custom For Carlos in January. He is winless in six local tries and seems best over a route of ground.

Unbridled Heat completes the field. He turns back and goes turf to dirt but does not have the speed to keep up with this crew.
