Coolmore America announced the 2019 stud fees for their Ashford Stud stallions Sunday, including the first-year fee for 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify.

Justify carries the top price at $150,000. Coolmore was happy to welcome this year’s Triple Crown winner after losing his sire Scat Daddy suddenly in 2015. Justify was undefeated in six starts, breaking his maiden and winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes all within 112 days.

American Pharoah, the 2015 Triple Crown winner and Horse of the Year, will stand for $110,000 in 2019. The son of Pioneerof the Nile retired at the end of his 3-year-old season after winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland. He commanded $200,000 his first season at stud, following only Gainesway’s Tapit at $300,000, before Coolmore listed his fee as private in 2017-18.

Uncle Mo is the last to be listed at six figures for 2019, with a fee of $125,000. His first crop produced 2016 Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist. Uncle Mo first stood for $35,000 in 2012 and dropped to $25,000 by 2015. He stood for $150,000 the year after Nyquist won the Kentucky Derby and was also listed at $125,000 for 2018.

Listed as new for 2019 with a stud fee to be announced is Mendelssohn, who is preparing for a start in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs Nov. 3. Winner of last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, Mendelssohn took to dirt this year by winning the UAE Derby and finishing second to Catholic Boy in the Travers Stakes. He could be seen running against older horses in the Sept. 29 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park before heading to the Classic.
