Cool Arrow headlines full field in Springboard Mile

The $300,000 Springboard Mile, the richest race for 2-year-olds in the Remington Park Thoroughbred Season, will feature a full-field of 12 this Sunday afternoon. Cool Arrow, winner of the $75,000 Kip Deville Stakes in September at Remington Park, has been made the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the race.
 
The Springboard Mile is the main event on a 12-race program that takes place on the final race date of the season, Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3pm.
 
The winners of both of the major 2-year-old local preps for the Springboard Mile at Remington Park have entered to try and add the top trophy to their collection. U S Officer, winner of the $100,000 Clever Trevor Stakes on Nov. 4 and Cool Arrow, winner of the $75,000 Kip Deville Stakes on Sept. 25, will be joined by 10 other rivals in the 11th of 12 races on Sunday.
 
Cool Arrow shipped from Kentucky to win the Kip Deville Stakes on the Oklahoma Derby undercard in late September. Trained by Joe Sharp for owners Brad and Misty Grady of Covington, Texas, Cool Arrow then ran a solid second in the $300,000 Spendthrift Stallion Stakes at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. on Oct. 30. Jockey Luis Saez has been named to ride in the Springboard in what will be the first attempt longer than seven furlongs for Cool Arrow.
 
U S Officer has been given a morning-line of 15-1 by odds-maker Rick Lee. U S Officer has won two consecutive races at Remington Park after finishing a well-beaten seventh behind Cool Arrow in the Kip Deville. Trained by Danny Pish, U S Officer won going one mile for the first time, in an allowance race at Remington Park on Oct. 14. He then came back to score the Clever Trevor Stakes for owners Jerry Durant and Bill Jordan of Weatherford, Texas. Jockey David Cabrera has ridden U S Officer to both of his local wins and he will retain the mount for the Springboard.
 
Young American has been made the second-favorite in the morning-line at 7-2 odds. Owned by Stephen Baker of Dallas and trained by Kenneth McPeek, Young American broke his maiden in his last start, his fifth career attempt, going 1-1/16 miles at Churchill Downs while winning by 2-1/4 lengths. Jockey Corey Lanerie will be on Young American for the fourth straight race. 
 
Totality is third in the morning-line at 5-1 odds. Owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds of Las Vegas and trained by National Racing Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen, jockey Ramon Vazquez will be on Totality who seeks his second career win. He broke his maiden status in his career debut at Churchill Downs on Oct. 2, winning by 1-1/2 lengths.
C.R. Trout of Edmond, Okla. will send Hallelujah Hit into the Springboard off his score in the $75,000 Don McNeill Stakes at Remington Park on Nov. 18. Hallelujah Hit came from just off the pace in the one-mile race for Oklahoma-breds to win by one length. Alex Birzer was up for the win in the McNeill stakes and will keep the mount on Sunday. Hallelujah Hit is at 12-1 odds in the morning line.
 
Raising Rumors will travel to Oklahoma City from his Churchill Downs base in Louisville, Ky. for the Springboard Mile. Owned by Tom Durant of Grapevine, Texas and trained by Randy Morse, Raising Rumors was fifth in the Grade 3, $100,000 Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs in July. He then won the $65,000 Prairie Gold Juvenile at Prairie Meadows later that same month. Jockey C.J. McMahon will return to Remington Park to ride Raising Rumors in what will be the gelding’s initial attempt at more than seven furlongs. He is at 20-1 odds in the morning line.

Cool Arrow is the top earner in the Springboard Mile field with $102,835 bankrolled…   U S Officer and Raising Rumors share the most wins of those entered with three each… The field of 12 for the Springboard is comprised of six Kentucky-breds (U S Officer, Totality, Young American, Prados Way, Equator and Cool Arrow); three Texas-breds (Imma Wild Bling, My Golden Aura and Raising Rumors); two Oklahoma-breds (Hallelujah Hit and Rowdy The Warrior); and one Maryland-bred (Cu Rahy).
 
The top three finishers in the Springboard Mile will all receive automatic nominations to the 2017 Grade 3, Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park. The winner of the Springboard Mile will receive an all fees paid entry in the 2017 Oklahoma Derby.
 
The Springboard Mile is one of five stakes races on the program for the final day of the Remington Park season. The stakes races, with approximate post times (Central):
-       Race 8: $100,000 Trapeze Stakes, 2-year-old fillies, one mile, 6:21pm
-       Race 9: $50,000 Useeit Stakes, 3-year-old fillies (OK-bred), one mile, 6:47pm
-       Race 10: $100,000 She’s All In Handicap, fillies and mares 3 and older, 1 mile-70 yards, 7:17pm
-       Race 11: $300,000 Springboard Mile, 2-year-olds, one mile, 7:45pm
-       Race 12: $50,000 Jim Thorpe Stakes, 3-year-olds (OK-bred), one mile, 8:13pm
 
The Primetime Pick Four (races 9-12) is an all-stakes affair on Sunday and will carry a guaranteed minimum wagering pool of $30,000. The Primetime Pick Four is a 50-cent bet at Remington Park.
 

A total of 141 horses entered the 12-race Springboard Mile program this Sunday for an average field size of 11.75 per race. There are two races with nine runners; one race with 11 (Useeit Stakes); seven races with 12 entries; and two races with 14 entered. 

SAVINGS ACCOUNT IS MORNING-LINE FAVORITE FOR SUNDAY’S SHE’S ALL IN HANDICAP AT REMINGTON PARK
The $100,000 She’s All In Handicap, part of the undercard of Springboard Mile Day at Remington Park, boasts a field of 12 for this Sunday afternoon. Savings Account has been made the 2-1 morning-line favorite and will break from the outside post in the race for older fillies and mares going 1 mile-70 yards.
 
Also the 122-pound high-weight for the She’s All In, Savings Account is owned by Heider Family Stables and Craig Bernick of Ocala, Fla. Trained by Thomas Proctor, Savings Account won her most recent start, the $200,000 Treasure Chest Stakes at Delta Downs in Vinton, La. on Nov. 19. A 5-year-old with 20 career starts, Savings Account is well-traveled, having competed from coast-to-coast. She was third in the Grade 1 Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita in Sept. 2015, behind Beholder.
 
Savings Account finished third in the She’s All In Handicap while carrying 121 pounds in 2015. She will be ridden by Corey Lanerie in this Sunday’s edition. 
 
Terra Promessa, a multiple graded stakes winner, has been entered to make her first start since finishing 10th in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks in May at Churchill Downs. Owned by Stonestreet Stables of Geyserville, Calif., Terra Promessa is trained by National Racing Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen. Jockey Richard Eramia will have the mount. Terra Promessa is the second-choice in the morning-line at 3-1 according to odds-maker Rick Lee.
 
Terra Promessa earned her way into the Kentucky Oaks thanks to back-to-back wins in the Grade 3, $200,000 Honeybee Stakes and then the Grade 3, $400,000 Fantasy Stakes, both this spring at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark. Since finishing 10th in the field of 14 in the Kentucky Oaks in Louisville, Ky. in May, Terra Promessa has posted a series of workouts to ready for her return. She recently breezed five furlongs in bullet fashion at Fair Grounds in New Orleans on Nov. 29. 
 
Terra Promessa is the top earner among the dozen entered for the She’s All In Handicap with $450,600 to her credit. She will carry the second-highest weight in the handicap with 120 pounds.
 
More Than Most is third in the morning-line at 7-2 odds. Owned by Douglas Scharbauer of Midland, Texas and trained by Bret Calhoun, More Than Most will be ridden by C.J. McMahon. A winner in for of her last five attempts, including the $50,000 Fiesta Mile Stakes for Texas-breds over the Retama Park turf in Selma, Texas on Oct. 29, More Than Most will make her first attempt over the Remington Park main track in the She’s All In Handicap. 
 
The She’s All In is named after the talented Oklahoma-bred mare who won and regularly competed in graded stakes events as well as dominating the Oklahoma Classics Distaff for four straight years (2010-2013), all while accumulating over $1 million in career earnings.

CHANEL’S LEGACY RETURNS TO REMINGTON PARK FOR TRAPEZE STAKES
 
OKLAHOMA CITY – The $100,000 Trapeze Stakes, the top stakes event in the Remington Park season for 2-year-old fillies, drew nine for Sunday’s running at one mile. The Trapeze is one of four supporting stakes races on the 12-race Springboard Mile program that serves as the final race date of 2016 at Remington Park.
 
Chanel’s Legacy, winner of the $50,000 E.L.Gaylord Memorial here on Oct. 14, will return to Remington Park for owner Poindexter Thoroughbreds of Springfield, Mo. She was recently fourth in the Grade 3, $400,000 Delta Downs Princess Stakes on Nov. 19.
 
Trained by Lynn Chleborad, Chanel’s Legacy will get the return services of jockey Ramon Vazquez who has ridden her in all races except the Delta Princess. A winner of two races at Remington Park this fall, Chanel’s Legacy broke her maiden status in her first start here on Sept. 8 before scoring the Gaylord Memorial. She has been set at 9-2 odds on the morning-line for the Trapeze Stakes by odds-maker Rick Lee.
 
The morning-line favorite for the Trapeze is Perfect Wife at 5-2 odds. Owned by Fern Circle Stables and trained by Kenneth McPeek, Perfect Wife broke her maiden in her career debut, scoring by a half-length under jockey Corey Lanerie at Keeneland on Oct. 28. She comes into the Trapeze after a fourth-place effort at Churchill Downs in an allowance/optional $75,000-level claiming race. Lanerie will get his second opportunity on Perfect Wife in the Trapeze.
 
Torrent, an impressive six-length maiden winner at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5 has been tabbed as the second morning-line favorite at 3-1 odds. Trained by Ron Moquett, Torrent needed four attempts to graduate to the status of a winner. She is owned by Westrock Stables of Little Rock, Ark. 
 
Gris Gris is third in the morning-line odds at 4-1 off her fourth-place effort in the Grade 2, $200,000 Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs on Nov. 26. Trained by Bernard Flint, Gris was beaten by 7-1/2 lengths in the Golden Rod Stakes. She is one of just three entered for the Trapeze with two wins to her credit. Gris is owned by Naveed Chowhan and will have the services of local rider David Cabrera.
