Grade 1-winning millionaire Colonel John has retired from racing to WinStar Farm near Lexington, Ky., where he was bred.

The 4-year-old Tiznow colt finished fifth behind Zenyatta in the Breeders Cup Classic in his last start. He now retires with six wins, three seconds, and one third from 15 career starts, for earnings of $1,779,012.
