Cohen Sidelined with Leg Injury

Jockey David Cohen suffered an injury to his right leg prior to the running of the fourth race on Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack and was discharged from the hospital to be evaluated by his own orthopedist.
According to Dan Nelson, Director of Safety for The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), Cohen was moving with the assistance of crutches and is likely to be immobile for six to eight weeks.
Cohen was kicked in the right leg by his mount, Recoupe, as he was about to climb aboard the filly for the six-furlong maiden race. The jockey was taken by ambulance to North Shore University Hospital, where he was fitted with a soft cast.
Cohen, 29, is the fifth-leading rider at the Big A's inner-track meet with 20 victories from 117 starts.
