On Monday, 1/ST Racing announced it will seed the Florida Derby day coast-to-coast $1 Pick 5 with $100,000. In addition, the wager will be extended through the end of the Santa Anita meet on June 16 after previously being scheduled to end on Sunday, April 7.
The coast-to-coast Pick 5 is a $1 wager with 15 percent takeout featuring races from Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita every Saturday and Sunday.
Since January, the wager has averaged $220,567 in handle, so a $100,000 seed to the pool should increase handle significantly. In addition, Horse Racing Nation has been tracking the coast-to-coast stats. They are paying nearly 3 1/2 times the parlay, which is an excellent return.
1/ST Racing also announced that Gulfstream Park has scheduled a mandatory payoff of the Rainbow Pick 6 wager on Sunday. The current carryover is $580,635 in the 20-cent jackpot wager.
