Sunday’s Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks will make for an exciting combination between champion filly Songbird and Saratoga. A New York State of Racing provides picks and insight into how the race could play out in Songbird Headlines the 2016 Coaching Club American Oaks.

 

Odds and post positions for the CCA Oaks are below as seen on the HRN Stakes Tracker.

Undefeated Songbird seeks her ninth win and fifth Grade 1 victory on Sunday as the morning line favorite. Last time out she won the Summertime Oaks without ever being asked. With tougher competition in the upcoming race, there’s a chance Songbird could show even more brilliance than she already has.

 

Carina Mia is deservedly the second choice. She was impressive in both her Eight Belles and Acorn wins, and appears to be the biggest challenge for Songbird in the CCA Oaks. If by chance there is an upset, it could very well come from this filly.
