Clothes Fall Off Earns First Stakes Win in Correction

Making her 11th career start, Clothes Fall Off earned her first stakes victory capturing the $125,000 Correction Stakes for fillies and mares 4-years-old-and-up on Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Breaking alertly from post position 5 with Manuel Franco aboard, the Kiaran McLaughlin-trained filly sat comfortably in third position off the pace as Momameamaria took an early lead from post-time favorite Paulassilverlining to lead the field of five through opening fractions of 23.51 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 47.06 for the half.
Owned by Cheyenne and Southern Equine Stables, Clothes Fall Off was sent to task At the quarter-pole,, swinging out to the three-path and opening up in the stretch to secure the victory by 1 ½ lengths.
Returning $8.50 for a $2 win wager, her winning time for the six furlongs was 1:10.68.
"The assistant trainer told me to keep an eye on the No. 1 [Paulassilverlining] and after that, he told me just to ride the filly," said Franco. "I knew those two horses [Momameamaria and Paulassilverlining] were going to be fighting for the lead, so I sat in third and then I moved into second and she gave me the run."
The victory boosted the 4-year-old Daaher filly's career earnings to $365,160.
"Manuel before the race had it in his head what he was going to be doing and it just happened to turn out perfectly," said Joe Lee, assistant to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. "We were able to stalk and watch Paulassilverlining was going to do. She ran great."

Paulassilverlining closed fast to secure second-place followed by Willet, My Savannah Belle and Momameamaria completing the order of finish.
