Clark Handicap 2018: Post positions, odds and more

It's Black Friday to many, but if you're a racing fan/horseplayer, what follows Thanksgiving is better known as Clark Handicap day, and it's here. A field of eight will go postward for the Grade 1, $500,000 feature at Churchill Downs, where they'll race under the lights going 1 1/8 miles.

Defending winner Seeking the Soul is the morning line favorite -- rightfully so against this bunch -- while hard-knocking 3-year-old Bravazo looks to break through at the top level. Leofric and Prime Attraction recently bumped heads running 1-2 in Keeneland's Fayette (G2) and also return here.

That covers the main contenders, but only Seeking the Soul is a Grade 1 hero entering Friday. If you don't like the favorite's chances, the Clark could measure up as a nice betting opportunity.

Here's a look at the field:

 1. Prime Attraction 3-1
 2. Hence 12-1
 3. Seeking the Soul 8-5
 4. Hawaakom 15-1
 5. Leofric 3-1
 6. Bravazo 9-2
 7. Storm Advisory 30-1
 8. Sightforsoreeyes 30-1

Tune in

This fall, Churchill Downs' races have returned to TVG, which will broadcast with on-site analysis ahead of post time at 5:56 p.m. ET. You can also watch live streams through advanced deposit wagering services such as TVG or NYRABets.

The undercard

Race 2 at Churchill, an allowance for 3-year-olds, marks the return of Copper Bullet, a well-regarded Steve Asmussen trainee who won the 2017 Saratoga Special (G2) in his last start. Later, Chad Brown-trained Setlla di Camelot looks like the one to beat in the Mrs. Revere, a Grade 2, $200,000 race for 3-year-old fillies on the turf. The Clark goes one later as Race 11 of 12.
