Clairiere, Pauline's Pearl are retired to Stonestreet Farms

Stonestreet homebreds Clairiere and Pauline's Pearl have been retired to join the Lexington, Ky., farm's broodmare band.

Both 5-year-olds were Grade 1 winners for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Clairiere's four Grade 1 wins included the Apple Blossom and Ogden Phipps this year. A daughter of Curlin, out of the Bernardini mare Cavorting, she appeared in the Breeders' Cup Distaff three times, finishing fourth in 2021 and 2023 and third in a blanket finish in 2022. Overall, she has six graded-stakes wins.

She has a career record of 22: 8-6-3 and earnings of $3,266,392.

Pauline's Pearl, sired by Tapit out of the Dixie Union mare Hot Dixie Chick, got her lone Grade 1 win in the La Troienne and had six graded-stakes wins overall. She has a career record of 20: 8-3-3 and earnings of $2,146,800.

Stonestreet said in a post on the X social-media platform that their breeding plans have yet to be determined.
