Two-time Grade 3 winner Echo Sound tries to rebound from her disappointing effort as the beaten favorite in last month’s Test (G1) when she faces seven fellow 3-year-old fillies entered in next Saturday’s Grade 3, $300,000 Dogwood Stakes at Churchill Downs.

The first post for the stakes-filled card is 12:45 p.m. EDT. The seven-furlong Dogwood goes to post in race 9 at 4:58 p.m.

Owned by Gabriel Dulgnan and trained by Rusty Arnold, Echo Sound scored her first graded-stakes victory in the May 16 Miss Preakness (G3). One month later she bested three rivals in the Victory Ride (G3). Before Saturday’s Dogwood, Echo Sound finished sixth to stablemate Kilwin while carrying 3-2 odds in the Text. Jockey Florent Géroux has the mount from the rail post in the Dogwood.

Ragtime, a Godolphin homebred trained by Bill Mott, also was entered. The lightly-raced daughter of Union Rags was victorious in the first two starts of her career, breaking her maiden by 3 3/4 lengths and then winning a first-level allowance by 4 1/4 lengths at Saratoga. After her allowance score Ragtime nearly won the Test, finishing a neck behind Kilwin at odds of 4-1. Júnior Alvarado has the call in the Dogwood out of post 4.
