Christiesborntorun Wins Monmouth Feature

Brian Drazin’s Christiesborntorun took command turning for home and held all rivals safe at bay through the stretch to capture the $50,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Friday.

Trained by Jason Servis and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, Christiesborntorun covered the five furlongs over firm turf in :55 2/5 and returned $3.20, $2.60 and $2.60 as the odds-on choice in the field of eight colts and geldings.  Wildcat Glory, who finished 3 ¼ lengths behind the winner, rallied to complete the $18.60 exacta and paid $6 to place and $4.60 to show.  It was another length and a quarter back to Outstanding Hope, who returned $6.40 to show.

Friday’s win was the second in five starts for Christiesborntorun, a 3-year-old colt by Grand Slam out of the stakes winning mare Chocolate Brown.  The winner was bred in Kentucky by Dennis Drazin.
