Chleborad has Four Winners in One Night at Remington
Trainer Lynn Chleborad came into Wednesday-night racing at Remington Park with three wins over the first 18 race dates of the Thoroughbred Season. She racked up four more victories from nine attempts Wednesday to more than double her season total.
Chleborad, a long-time regular in the Remington Park training ranks, enjoyed her biggest night of racing in Oklahoma City, starting with Ella’s Glory ($6 to win) in the third race. She followed that with a win in race four as Honolulu ($9) posted a victory in her career debut.
Zella Rose ($15) won the sixth race to make Chleborad’s night even bigger as she is also the owner and breeder of the 3-year-old filly. The fourth win of the quadruple came in the next race as Sparkled pulled away easily to break her maiden status and closing the successful evening for Chleborad.
The connections for Chleborad were also successful. Poindexter Thoroughbreds of Springfield, Mo. owned the three winners she saddled that she didn’t own. Jockey Ramon Vazquez rode three of the four winners while Alex Birzer had the mount for Ella’s Glory.
The four-win night for Chleborad gives her seven victories on the season and puts her into a tie with Roger Engel and Steve Asmussen for fifth-place in the trainer standings. J.R. Caldwell sits atop the standings with 12 wins for the season.
Racing continues this week, Thursday thru Saturday, Sept. 15-17 at Remington Park. The $50,000 Oklahoma Stallion Stakes races take place on Friday, Sept. 16 with one division for 3-year-old colts and geldings and the other for 3-year-old fillies. Both events are at seven furlongs.
Open daily at 10:30am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor and is the home of the 28th Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby and $1.4 Million Festival of Stakes on Sunday, Sept. 25. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park.
