Charles Town cancels Wednesday card after winter storm

Charles Town Races canceled live racing for Wednesday because of a winter storm that impacted the area Tuesday into the early morning hours Wednesday.

The National Weather Service forecast for the area called for a chance of snow and sleet before 3 p.m. EST, then rain between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., then rain and sleet, possibly mixed with snow after 5 p.m. The high temperature was expected to be near 34.
Live racing is slated to resume Thursday at the standard first race post time of 7 p.m. EST. No precipitation is in the Thursday forecast.
