Charles Town has canceled its live racing program for Saturday night due to inclement weather.

Live racing is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, January 10 at its standard first race post time of 7 p.m. EST. Weather for Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny during the day, with a high near 47, and partyl cloudy into the evening. The eight-race card is anchored by the night's fourth race, a $31,300 allowance race for West Virginia-bred fillies aged three and up.
That race features a clash between multiple stakes winners The Sky Is Falling (8-5) and Lightnin Runner (2-1). The Sky is Falling, now a 5-year-old makes her first start since a third-place finish behind Hessica in the West Virginia Cavada Breeders' Classic on Oct. 14. Lightnin Runner will try to begin her 4-year-old year the same way she ended her sophomore season. She was last seen Dec. 16, when she beat open allowance-optional claiming company at Charles Town.
