Chamberlain Bridge wins Dubai prep

Chamberlain Bridge moved closer to a trip to Dubai on Saturday night, when he won his first start since taking the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint in the $75,000 Rail Splitter at Sam Houston Race Park.

The five-furlong turf race served as his prep for the Group 2, $1 million Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan Race Course on March 26.

Chamberlain Bridge ($2.60) tracked the pace while racing three-wide in the Rail Splitter, as Forestry Gold and Future Covenant dueled through an opening quarter in 22.05 seconds. Chamberlain Bridge moved to the lead in late stretch, and covered the distance on firm turf in 56.63 seconds. He won by a length over Goldzar. It was another 1 ¼ lengths back in third to Future Covenant.
