Chamberlain Bridge Seeks Turf Sprint Win

Chamberian Bridge, beaten choice at Keeneland on April 16, returns to his favorite venue in Saturday's Grade 3 Twin Spires Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs.

The 2010 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint hero seems to spin his wheels over the Lexington lawn but has no such trouble under the Twin Spires. He is a neck away from a perfect 5-for-5 local grass record and it should be noted that his lone Churchill blemish was in this event last year. Jamie Theriot takes his usual seat aboard the hard knocking 7-year-old gelding.

Sharp California invader Regally Ready figures to mix it up early with Bridgetown and those two could set it up for a patient runner. The former shoots for a four-bagger and has won here before. The latter is also sharp and has a nose for the wire.

Custom For Carlos ran into dirt sprint buzzsaw Big Drama in Florida last time. He disappointed in his lone turf start but is bred to handle the sod.

Another runner with strong dirt form is Early Return. The Fair Grounds invader did rally for place in a turf sprint stakes event in New Orleans late last year so he does handle the green.

The field is completed by Henry's Time, Southern Region, Spectacular Kid, and Bererac.
