Trainer Chad Brown's hearing on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing has been moved again, this time to Oct. 21.

Brown was arrested at his home in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 17 after being accused by a woman of choking her.

He appeared in court the next day, entered a not-guilty plea and was released after posting $2,500 in cash to make bail.

His next court appearance in the case was scheduled for Sept. 2 and then postponed to Sept. 16 and again to Friday before this latest change. An official in the Saratoga City Court Clerk's office said the delays were requested by Brown's attorney.

During his initial hearing, Brown's attorney, Joseph Gerstenzang, claimed the trainer was defending himself from a break-in by the victim, according to a report by Subrina Dhammi of WNYT-TV in Albany. Judge Francine Vero said she did not believe Brown's story, saying, "This court is not in the business of accusing domestic-violence victims."

Brown was the leading trainer at the Saratoga meet, with 42 wins from 197 starts.
