Cathy's Crunches wins again

Yes it was only at Golden Gate Fields, but it's doubtful any 2-year-old filly anywhere could have achieved what Cathy's Crunches has in just four weeks.

On Nov. 6, she won the $50,900 Golden Gate Debutante by 5 1/2 lengths in her first stakes appearance. On Nov. 20, she won the $51,200 Golden Nugget Stakes against male opponents by 3 1/2 lengths.

On Saturday, running in her first two-turn race, she overcame traffic and a slow pace that would have doomed a lesser horse and won the $76,200 Corte Madera Stakes by a half-length.
