Catholic Boy retired from racing, to stand at Claiborne Farm

Claiborne Farm has announced 2018 Travers Stakes winner Catholic Boy has been retired from racing and will stand stud at the Paris, Kentucky breeding farm in a press release by Stallion Seasons and Bloodstock Manager Bernie Sams.
A dual-surface star, Catholic Boy’s stud fee for the 2020 season will be $25,000.
He won six graded stakes in his racing career, highlighted by the Travers (G1) last August. His most recent graded stakes win came this May in the Dixie Stakes (G2) on the turf at Pimlico.
Trained by Jonathan Thomas, his final race was the Knickerbocker Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park on October 14 where he finished a well-beaten fourth as the nearly even money favorite.
