Jockey Javier Castellano was unseated following the conclusion of the ninth race at Aqueduct Racetrack on Wednesday and was taken to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y. for tests.

Castellano, 33, the leading rider on the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit with 220 victories, was unseated when his mount, Atlantic Dream, stumbled and fell after finishing last in the 1 1/16-mile maiden race. Castellano was transported to First Aid and then taken to the hospital complaining of pain in his chest.

Atlantic Dreams did not appear to be seriously injured and left the track.

A native of Venezuela, Castellano leads the nation in terms of both victories (317) and purses earned ($25.5 million).
