Cartwright Fractures Hand at Monmouth

Apprentice jockey Alice Cartwright was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ on Saturday after being unseated by her mount Angels Way just prior to the fourth race at Monmouth Park.

“She had a laceration and fracture of the right hand,” said Dr. Angelo Chinnici, Monmouth Park medical director.  “She’ll likely miss the next four weeks.”

A 24-year-old native of Shrewsbury, England, Cartwright has ridden two winners in 21 mounts at the Monmouth Park meeting.
