Capitan Futuro Impresses in U.S. Debut

Team Valor International showed off a potential turf marathon standout Thursday when Capitan Futuro (GB) won a first-level allowance race by 2½ lengths going 1½ miles on the grass in his U.S. debut.

“That was a nice win for him,” said Dave Rock, assistant to trainer Graham Motion. “We got him in the barn in June or July.”

Named for Italian soccer standout midfielder Daniele De Rossi, Capitan Futuro broke his maiden in his third start in Italy in February at 1 5/16 miles.
