B/L Racing Stable and Michelle Lovell’s Canon Man, in command quickly after the break, made the pace, withstood a challenge from Feel The Thunder Stable and David Cassidy’s Siente El Trueno at the quarter-pole and drew clear again to win Thursday’s featured $49,000 six-furlong allowance sprint by 1 1/4-lengths.

Trained by Lovell and ridden by Kerwin Clark, Canon Man set early splits of 21.98 and 45.50 before accomplishing the final distance in 1:11.16. The winner paid $8.80, $3.60 and $2.80 and increased his career earnings to $92,100 while winning for the third time in eight lifetime starts.

Favored Siente El Trueno, who held down the runner-up spot by finishing a length in front of Bryton Racing’s My Man Moran, returned $2.80 and $2.10 while the latter paid $2.80 in the show position.
