Campo Named New Gulfstream Park GM

Gulfstream Park announced today that P.J. Campo, Vice President of Racing for The Stronach Group and Gulfstream Park, will also assume the duties of General Manager at Gulfstream, effective immediately.

Since coming to Gulfstream in November of 2013, Campo has helped in establishing a successful summer racing program at Gulfstream Park West as well as growing field size at Gulfstream Park. He has also worked closely with Gulfstream President and The Stronach Group's Chief Operating Officer Tim Ritvo in developing a year-round stakes program, growing the Florida Sire Stakes, and making changes to Gulfstream Park, Gulfstream Park West, the Casino at Gulfstream Park and The Village at Gulfstream Park to accommodate guests and improve customer relations.

"He worked tirelessly in helping to prepare Gulfstream Park West for our Fall Turf Festival and the racing department continues to improve field size, clearly evident by the 142 horses entered for our opening day program Saturday. He has also led Gulfstream management in improving our facility for the Championship Meet. P.J. is a valuable member of our team, and well deserving of this extra responsibility "

Gulfstream Park's Championship Meet, highlighted by the $1 million Florida Derby, begins Saturday with the $1 million Claiming Crown.
