Calvin Borel returns to riding Tuesday afternoon with a mount in the sixth race at Louisiana Downs.

It will be the first start for the three-time Kentucky Derby winner since June 10, when he rode Bebop Shoes, trained by his wife, Renay Borel, to a third-place finish in a Churchill Downs claiming race.

Calvin Borel's agent, Francisco Torres, told Horse Racing Nation that Borel is traveling to tracks where his wife has horses, picking up mounts as they become available.

The Hall of Fame jockey's plan is to "kind of stay by his family, whatever that might be," Torres said Tuesday. "If it takes him to ride in full time there in Louisiana, then so be it."

His mount Tuesday, Changi, is a 5-year-old mare owned and trained by Jeanne Marie Dolan. Her morning-line odds are 6-1, and the race has a post time of 5:55 p.m. EDT.

Borel has a record of 32: 4-1-2 this year. For his career, his record is 36,444: 5,263-4,778-4,190 with earnings of $133,011,301.

Before his June 10 mount, Borel had not raced since two starts at Churchill Downs on May 21, including a win on Jack Van Berg, who is trained by his wife.

On May 26, Borel was arrested in Hot Springs, Ark., and charged with driving while intoxicated.
