Two W Stable’s Bronx Beauty circled rivals around the turn and opened up in the lane to post a 4 ½ length score in the $60,000 Colleen Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday before a crowd of 13,376.
Trained by Anthony Margotta Jr., Bronx Beauty covered the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:06.10 and paid $23, $10 and $4.20.  Beaux Arts completed the $152 exacta and returned $8.40 and $3.40. It was another length and a quarter back to odds-on favorite Little Dipper, who after a troubled trip, returned $2.10 to show in the field of six 2-year-old fillies.  Originally scheduled for the turf, the Colleen was run on the main track after heavy rains soaked the Jersey Shore early this morning.
“There was plenty of speed in there so we sat just off and waited,” said winning jockey Eddie Castro, who booted home four winner’s on the card. “I knew the one horse (Little Dipper) would be tough so when she moved I moved too.  We were able to keep a clear path on the outside and she kicked in in the stretch.”

A daughter of freshman sire Liaison from the Rockport Harbor mare Forever Sunshine, Bronx Beauty is now a perfect two-for-two with earnings of $56,520.
