Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. was suspended for one day and fined $1,250 for a crop violation during his ride aboard Thorpedo Anna in Saturday's Grade 1 Travers Stakes at Saratoga.

Daily Racing Form reported that Hernandez used his crop seven times on the filly, who finished second by a head to Fierceness.

Hernandez will serve his suspension on Monday, according to the ruling by the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority.

Hernandez has entries in four races Thursday and six Saturday at Kentucky Downs.

He has ridden the 3-year-old filly trained by Kenny McPeek in all eight of her career starts, including Grade 1 wins this year in the Kentucky Oaks, Acorn and Coaching Club American Oaks.
