Brett Wiener of Clearwater, Fla. celebrated his anniversary in a big way on Labor Day - he won the $100,000 Game on DerbyWars!

He outplayed 132 others - including his wife, Sarah (swiener) - over the 2-day contest that spanned 30 races at Saratoga and Del Mar. First Prize was $50,000!

"It was Me and Sarah's 9th Anniversary today," said the proud winner, known as bwiener on the leaderboard. "So that was a good present. If I lost.... I might have "heard about" the wasted time. Sarah had zero luck with her picks. I kept on telling her about the track bias at Saratoga.... But...."

He was up for the challenge on Monday, as he also won the $15,000 Labor Day game as well - making his total for the weekend nearly $60,000!

"It was a real "grind"," said Wiener, who has won numerous DerbyWars contests and currently sits in the top 5 of the NHC Tour.  "But I love the challenge of the contests. I don't care if it's a $40 Head 2 Head or for $50 Grand!"

Coverage of the contest and the final 3 races was broadcast for the first time via Ustream, and you can watch the replay of the entire show here!

In the $100K, Brett was in mid-pack most of the first day, until Saratoga Heater won the finale at Saratoga, pumping his score to $59 and propelling him within reach of the lead. He scored with 2 modest-priced horses at Del Mar to wind up day 1 in 10th place.

Day 2 started out chalky for the first few races, but his breakthrough selection came once again in the Saratoga finale - Capital City added $42.20 to his score. He followed that up with the 7-2 Wanstead Gardens at Del Mar to take the lead. He survived the inquiry and got the $12.80 in place money for Back Off Buddy at Del Mar, and finished up the game with a final score of $169.50.

In second place was Lawrence Kahlden (stpetelsu64), who dueled for the lead throughout day 2 to just come up $3.30 short, but he still took home a $20,000 prize for second! Lawrence was also runner-up to Brett in the $15K! Just behind was Michael Tanzer (oreo) with $157.90 for the $10,000 third prize, and Bill Roth (masterofpicks19) in fourth after spending most of the first day on top of the leaderboard. The top 4 finishers are automatically entered into the next $100,000 game, coming up October 31 and November 1st!

Daniel Fischer (sfdan) was 5th, Robert Knowles (Toga) was 6th, and Joseph Murphy (firlong) was 7th.

Also finishing in the Top 10 were Eric Moomey (moomeyer) in 8th position, Richard Guggenhiem (guggie) in 9th, and Day 1 leader Patrick Cronin (redred) in 10th.
