Breeders' Futurity Next for Shared Property

Trainer Tom Amoss, who saddled Jerry Namy’s Shared Property to win Saturday’s Grade III Arlington-Washington Futurity, was understandably upbeat when reached at the airport shortly before his return trip to Kentucky Sunday morning.

“That was a lot of fun, yesterday,” said Amoss.  “I stopped by the barn to take a look at (Shared Property) this morning before we left for the airport and he looked great.  He ate up everything last night and we’re hoping he has a big future in front of him.  Nothing has been decided for sure just yet, but there’s a big chance we’ll run him next in the (Grade I) Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland (Oct. 8).

“I’ve liked this horse from the first time he came into the barn,” Amoss said. “I think he’s going to be a real good racehorse. I’m not sure why he ducked out the way he did yesterday but he’s still a little inexperienced.  He’ll improve off of that race yesterday.

“As for the filly (Pop-A-Top LLC’s Arlington-Washington Lassie contestant Always Here Too), she looked fine this morning, too,” Amoss added.  “I’m a little disappointed with her race (fifth), but she seems fine.”

Incidentally, moments after the local Futurity, the Amoss-trained Populist Politics, owned by Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence, finished a fast-closing third in the Grade II Super Derby at Louisiana Downs, beaten less than three lengths for the win.
