Breeders' Cup Friday scratches: Blackout Time is out of Juvenile

The Breeders' Cup Juvenile field was trimmed to six on Friday after Blackout Time was scratched.

According to Breeders' Cup media notes, it was a veterinary scratch.

Trained by Kenny McPeek, Blackout Time most recently finished second to Ted Noffey in the Breeders' Futurity (G1), bringing his record to 3: 1-2-0. The Not This Time colt was 5-1 on the morning line for the Juvenile.

As reported Thursday, Civil Liberty was scratched from the Juvenile because of a swollen tendon.

Ted Noffey was the morning-line favorite at 4-5, followed by Brant at 5-2.

Here are other scratches, listed with trainers, for Friday's Breeders' Cup races, according to Breeders' Cup notes.

Juvenile Turf Sprint: No. 2 Military Code, Charlie Appleby, trainer withdrawal. Now in, no. 13, Later Than Planned, Phil D’Amato. Scratched also-eligibles: No. 14 Should’ve, Wesley Ward; no. 15 Bobrovsky, Dale Romans; No. 16 Rogue Legend, Ward, entered back Sunday; no. 17 Bacio, Ward, entered back Sunday.

Juvenile Fillies: No change.

Juvenile Fillies Turf: No. 13 Precise, Aidan O’Brien, trainer withdrawal.

Juvenile: No. 3 Black Out Time, Kenny McPeek, veterinary scratch; no. 5 Civil Liberty, Doug O’Neill, trainer withdrawal.

Juvenile Turf: Scratched also-eligible no. 15 Caro Buono, Leonard Powell.
