This was the reported activity Tuesday for the horses entered in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Distaff.

Alice Verite

Trainer: Kazuya Nakatake

Jockey: Kyle Frey

Morning activity: She did an easy exercise on the main track.

Nakatake: “Distance would suit her better over 1,800 meters than 2,200 meters. She enjoys the dirt track here and is in good form. Obviously, this is her first appearance on dirt surface, and this is a gamble. Win or go home.”

Awesome Result

Trainer: Yasutoshi Ikee

Jockey: Yutaka Take

Morning activity: Worked 5 furlongs in 1:04.60

Stable representative: “We breezed her this morning. We intended to keep it easy for her because we prepared in Japan before the trip. She moved and breathed well. She doesn’t run seriously by herself at home and today was the same. She walks better here than does she is in Japan, and she is very relaxed. Hope everything goes well to the race day.”

Batucada

Trainer: Saffie Joseph Jr.

Morning activity: Galloped 1 1/4 miles in usual routine

Planned activity: Same routine planned for Wednesday

Joseph: “It was a race (the G2 Beldame on Oct. 6) we were trying to get graded stakes placing, even if we ran third and got beat eight or 9ninelengths. For her to run that well, we couldn’t say we were going in expecting that. Very good surprise and one we wanted.”

Candied

Trainer: Todd Pletcher

Jockey: Irad Ortiz Jr.

Morning activity: First day at track after shipping from Kentucky. Galloped 1 mile under exercise rider Amelia Green.

Planned activity: Scheduled to gallop 1 mile again Wednesday. Will visit paddock and gate for schooling.

Aron Wellman, president and founder of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, on drawing Post 1: “We've come to expect her drawing the rail. She's drawn the rail in so many big races now that Todd and I are just sort of resigned to the fact that it's a foregone conclusion she will. As she's matured, she's become more comfortable with it, and certainly has plenty of experience of having drawn the rail. We are putting blinkers on her, as well. That will help her, we think.”

Che Evasora

Trainer: Phil D’Amato

Jockey: Tiago Pereira

Morning activity: Galloped on main track.

Planned activity: Gallop early with paddock session possible.

D'Amato: “We got her in early summer (from Argentina) and it took some time for her to acclimate. I had seen a video of her win-and-you’re-in race in Argentina (the Gran Premio Criadores (G1) on May 1) and she was very impressive.”

Honor D Lady

Trainer: Saffie Joseph Jr.

Morning activity: Galloped 1 1/4 miles in usual routine.

Planned activity: Same routine Wednesday. Joseph: “I feel like she’s improved as a 4-year-old. Her last race was uncharacteristic with how she ran, but that’s not her fault. We had missed some training with a respiratory issue. We knew we needed to run and the race brought her forward. We feel pretty confident she’ll come back to her best form. If that’s going to be good enough, we don’t know.”

Miss New York

Trainer: Jorge Delgado

Jockey: Umberto Rispoli

Morning activity: Galloped 1 1/2 miles on main track

Raging Sea

Trainer: Chad Brown

Jockey: Flavien

Prat Morning activity: Had an easy gallop around the dirt track

Planned activity: More of the same on Wednesday

Brown: “Raging Sea is doing well and our record has been good in the Distaff, even without a win. We’ve been a little unlucky not to win it. She came out of the Beldame in great shape and keeps developing.”

Sugar Fish

Trainer: Jeff Mullins

Jockey: Tyler Baze

Morning activity: Arrived at Del Mar from Santa Anita

Planned activity: Train at Del Mar Wednesday morning

Thorpedo Anna

Trainer: Kenny McPeek

Jockey: Brian Hernandez Jr.

Morning activity: Jogged twice the wrong way around the track under exercise rider Danny Ramsey, schooled in paddock.

Planned activity: Expected to go to the track Wednesday morning.

McPeek: “She likes going first set every day. You’ve got to get her out. She will go crazy if I leave her in there three or four hours waiting to go. She has taken it all in. She is inquisitive. She likes looking around and seeing everything, checking it all out. She has settled in. That is normal for her.”
