Breeders' Cup Distaff winner Marche Lorraine is retired in Japan

Breeders' Cup Distaff winner Marche Lorraine, most recently sixth in the Saudi Cup (G1), has been retired to be a broodmare in Japan. According to Racing Post, she will be bred to 2016 Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Drefong. 

Marche Lorraine pulled of a 49-1 upset when rallying to edge Dunbar Road by a nose in last year's Distaff at Del Mar for trainer Yoshito Yahagi. The 5-year-old daughter of Orfevre is retired with a record of 22: 9-2-2 and earnings of $3,445,667 for owner Carrot Farm Co. Ltd.
