Arabian Knight has held firm as the favorite in Saturday betting for the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic. The 40th running of the race is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. EDT at Santa Anita with the telecast being shown live on NBC.

The 3-year-old colt owned by Amr Zedan and trained by four-time Classic winner Bob Baffert brings a 3-for-4 record to Santa Anita this weekend. Flavien Prat will keep the ride after he took Arabian Knight to victory Sept. 2 in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar. The son of Uncle Mo since has been training up to Saturday’s race.

Arabian Knight had been installed as the 3-1 morning-line favorite Monday, when 13 horses were entered for America’s richest race.

Twelve will start since Belmont Stakes winner Arcangelo was withdrawn Tuesday because of heat in his left hind ankle. His name remained a betting option until Friday afternoon, when the operators of wagering platforms removed him.

These were the pari-mutuel odds Saturday at 4:40 p.m. EDT to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic, according to the Xpressbet wagering site:
