Breeders' Cup Classic 2018 odds: Justify's favoritism grows

After opening at 5-2 to win the Breeders' Cup Classic at the Wynn Las Vegas, Justify saw a slight decrease in price this week. The Triple Crown winner's now 11-5 -- and expect his odds to continue shrinking so long as a clear rival doesn't appear in the handicap division.

Two other Bob Baffert trainees on the shelf, West Coast (7-1) and Collected (12-1), are the second and co-third choices ahead of the Nov. 3 race at Churchill Downs. Champion 2-year-old Good Magic and Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow are also 12-1 with Accelerate, a 1 1/4-mile winner this year, at 14-1.

Few horses on the board have run since initial Breeders' Cup odds were released June 18. Among changes from the first round: Ohio Derby winner Core Beliefs dropped 10 points to 75-1, while Solomini, who's out of training, and the late Untrapped are off the board.

Key upcoming races in the Classic division include the July 29 Haskell Invitational, a race for which Justify may be considered, as well as Saratoga's Aug. 4 Whitney that includes older horses. Both grant the winner an expenses-paid spot in the Breeders' Cup.

In all, the Wynn offers odds on 66 horses age 3 years old and up for wagering. See complete prices below, with the option to go full screen at the bottom right.
