Thunder Snow, Kentucky Derby Super Screener Analysis:

If there was ever a year that a UAE Derby winner could make an impact it would be this year.

Thunder Snow pressed the pace on a track that was actually favoring off the pace types due to the heavy rains that made the sandy Meydan surface very "cuppy" and a bit tiring to pace and presser types.

This colt also recorded the fastest time since they went to this distance and switched to dirt.  His final time of 1:57 3/5 was slightly faster than what Toast of New York achieved in 2014 and that horse went on to nearly capture the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic.

This colt has been sprinting for most of his career before winning two in a row on the Meydan dirt course.  He will find the Derby pace to be quite swifter early and that will tap his energy reserve rather significantly.  No horse exiting the UAE Derby has ever finished better than 5th in the Derby in 12 attempts.
