The question wasn’t if, but when would Brass Hat win again.
The answer came Saturday when the 8-year-old gelding, owned by Fred Bradley and trained by Buff Bradley of Frankfort, won the $100,000 Louisville Handicap Saturday at Churchill Downs.
The victory was Brass Hat’s first since winning the Massachusetts Handicap in September 2007.
“He actually turned a full eight years old yesterday,” Buff Bradley said after Saturday’s race. “He’s just been training awesome. We felt like he had a good shot.
