Parker Lightfield Farm's Bound by Humor,
fresh off a 6 ¾-length maiden victory at Belmont on May 18, will tackle
stakes competition for the first time in the Mike Lee.
Trained
by Rodrigo Ubillo as a 2-year-old, Bound by Humor finished second in
his first two starts, was fourth in his third start, and reported home
seventh in his seasonal finale, the Sleepy Hollow on Showcase Day at
Belmont in October. In January, he was transferred to Tom Albertrani,
for whom he has made one start.
"I thought he was very
impressive the first time I ran him," Albertrani said of Bound by
Humor's maiden victory. "He was training well going into the race, so we
were very optimistic he was going to run well that day. He actually ran
a lot better than I expected."
While the Mike Lee will
be Bound by Humor's first start against winners, Albertrani is confident
the colt will handle the step up in class.
"I wouldn't think he have to improve a whole off his last race," said Albertrani. "I think he fits well in the stake."
