Andrew Sulley’s Bold Thunder dueled early with The Absolute One before putting away that rival and all the rest to take the $32,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at the Meadowlands on Monday afternoon by four lengths.

Trained by Patricia Farro and ridden by Pierre Hernandez Ortega, Bold Thunder covered the five furlongs over firm turf in :55 3/5 and returned $3.40, $2.40 and $2.10 as one-half of the odds-on favored entry.  The Absolute One completed the $28.40 exacta and paid $7.20 and $4.  It was another half-length back to Take Heart, who paid $2.80 to show.

Bold Thunder, a 3-year-old colt by Bold n’ Flashy from the Storm Creek mare Stormy Kristine, has won three of his eight lifetime starts.

The all-turf Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet continues this weekend with live cards offered Friday and Saturday.  Post-time for the final two days of live Thoroughbred racing will be 12:15 p.m.
