Blanc Gets to Know Miss Serendipity

While Brice Blanc has never ridden Miss Serendipity in a race, he has worked her two times and is optimistic that the Argentine-bred mare trained by Ron McAnally will give a good account of herself when she runs in Sunday’s Grade II, $200,000 Santa Ana Stakes for older fillies and mares at 1 1/8 miles on turf.

“She’s been working really well,” said the 41-year-old native of Lyon, France. “This will be her third start in this country and I think she’ll move forward tomorrow. It will be a very competitive race, but she’s doing really well. She’s relaxing and finishing up well.

“We’ll see how the race sets up. Hopefully there’s a little pace. She’s so professional in the morning it leads me to believe her best race is coming.”

The Santa Ana: Miss Serendipity, Brice Blanc, 4-1; Stormy Lucy, Rafael Bejarano, 6-1; Emotional Kitten, Victor Espinoza, 3-1; Topic, Corey Nakatani, 8-1; Nickels Wild, Martin Garcia, 20-1; Emollient, Mike Smith, 1-1; and Floral Romance, Gary Stevens, 8-1.
