Midnight Bisou, the nation’s leading dirt female and Horse of the Year contender, will head to auction on Nov. 4 when offered by Elite Sales at the Fasig-Tipton November Sales Night of the Stars, it was announced Thursday.

Presumably, the 4-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute will walk into the ring two days after making the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Santa Anita Park her final career start.

“Very rarely is an in-form, young, set-to-be-crowned champion offered at public auction,” said Elite Sales’ Bradley Weisbord. “Here is an opportunity to buy the best filly in training, a five-time Grade 1 winner, and a superstar physical. We’re honored that Bloom Racing has chosen Elite to consign her.”

Also campaigned in partnership with Madaket Stables, Steve Asmussen-trained Midnight Bisou is 6-for-6 this season, all in graded stakes, and most recently edged out division rival Elate to win the Aug. 24 Personal Ensign (G1) in a thriller at Saratoga.

Other victories this season have included Oaklawn Park’s Apple Blossom (G1) and Belmont Park’s Ogden Phipps (G1). Last year, Midnight Bisou won the Santa Anita Oaks (G1), took Parx’s Cotillion (G1) via disqualification and ran third in her initial try at the Distaff.

“Midnight Bisou has truly been a dream come true for me, my family, and our partners,” said co-owner Jeff Bloom. “She exemplifies class, beauty, and elegance, and she consistently displays unrivaled determination and dominance on the racetrack. She has an incredibly intelligent eye and confident presence, combined with an engaging and warm personality.

“She has taken us all on the ride of a lifetime and has forever changed our lives.”

Sporting an 11-3-3 record in 17 starts, never missing the board, Midnight Bisou has earned $3.245 million.

According to Elite Sales, Midnight Bisou’s Breeders Cup prep plans aren’t set. Bloom previously mentioned a run at Belmont’s Sept. 28 Beldame (G2) was likely.
