Belmont Stakes 2025 odds: Journalism remains the favorite

Kentucky Derby runner-up and Preakness winner Journalism has maintained the role of favorite Saturday at Saratoga when the scheduled post time arrived for the Belmont Stakes, the finale for the 2025 Triple Crown.

Journalism was 2-1 on Saturday evening in the all-sources win pool, which has been building handle since it opened this week. The only horse to be entered in all three Triple Crown races, Journalism was installed Monday on the morning line at 8-5.

Sovereignty, who won the Kentucky Derby three days before his connections made the contentious decision to skip the Preakness, was showing at 5-2. He had been established at 2-1 on the morning line.

Baeza, a maiden winner who since finished second in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby and third in the Kentucky Derby, was 3-1 on Saturday evening. He was 4-1 in the program.

Rodríguez, who has not raced since he won the Wood Memorial (G2) in April, was 7-1. His program odds are 6-1.

Shortened from its traditional 1 1/2 miles to 1 1/4 miles for its temporary move from Long Island to Saratoga, the Belmont Stakes is scheduled for Saturday at 7:04 p.m. EDT.
