Belmont Park's jackpot Pick 6 set for mandatory payout

Mandatory payouts for the Empire 6, Early Pick 5 and Late Pick 5 wagers will be in effect on closing Sunday of the Belmont Park fall meet.

Sunday's 9-race card will feature the eighth running of the $100,000 Chelsey Flower for juvenile fillies in Race 4; the seventh edition of the $100,000 Pumpkin Pie for fillies and mares, 3-years-old and up in Race 7; and the second renewal of the $1125,000 Zagora for fillies and mares, 3-year-old and up in Race 8.

The Empire 6 requires the bettor to select the first-place finisher of the final six races of the card. On non-mandatory payout days, if one unique ticket exists, then 100% of the net pool, plus the jackpot carryover if applicable, will be paid to the winner. If there is no unique wager selecting the first-place finisher in all six races, then 75% of the day's net pool will be distributed to those who selected the first-place finisher in the greatest number of races. The remainder will be added into the jackpot and carried to the next day's Empire 6.

The Empire 6 jackpot entering Thursday's card at Belmont stood at $183,593. Sunday's Empire 6 will start with Race 4 with an approximate post time of 2:01 p.m. Eastern. 

The Early Pick 5 beings in Race 1 at 12:20 p.m., while the Late Pick 5 kicks off in Race 5 at 2:39 p.m.

Live racing shifts to Aqueduct Racetrack beginning Friday, November 1. The Aqueduct fall meet will offer 27 stakes worth $5 million in purses, including the inaugural four-day NYRA Thanksgiving Racing Festival featuring 11 stakes worth $1.9 million in purse money. The festival runs from Thanksgiving Day, November 28 through Sunday, December 1.

The highlight of the Aqueduct fall meeting will be the Cigar Mile Racing Festival, which begins on Thursday, December 5. Highlighted by four graded races worth $1.5 million in purse money, the festival anchors the final weekend of the fall meet which concludes on Sunday, December 8.
