Belmont 2018 odds: Blended Citizen takes money in Las Vegas

Of the 13 horses on the board for the 2018 Belmont Stakes at the Wynn Las Vegas, none have dropped in price more than Blended Citizen since wagering opened.

The Doug O'Neill-trained colt is looking to become the seventh winner of a local prep, the Peter Pan (G3), to also win the third leg of the Triple Crown series. This will mark Blended Citizen's first Grade 1 race and, somewhat surprisingly, the first starter for O'Neill in the Belmont.

A son of Proud Citizen, Blended Citizen opened at 28-1 at the Wynn but has since dropped to 15-1 in odds distributed Saturday.

The colt also won Turfway Park's Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) and closed quickly in Keeneland's Blue Grass (G2). He was the first horse left out of this year's Derby on points.

Only the 11-10 favorite, Justify, as well as Vino Rosso/Hofburg (6-1), Bravazo (7-1) and Tenfold (12-1) are offered at a shorter price.

The major change in the Wynn's odds this weekend came with the addition of Aidan O'Brien-trained Seahenge to the board at 40-1. Seahenge hasn't hit the board in either of his dirt starts, but going back three races he was third to Mendelssohn in Ireland's Patton Stakes, an early Derby qualifier.
