Behkabad wins Grand Prix de Paris

BEHKABAD made the most of a prominent position to deny Planteur in the Grand Prix De Paris, giving trainer Jean-Claude Rouget and jockey Gerald Mosse their second successes in the Group 1 race. Derby fourth Jan Vermeer finished third.

The Aga Khan-owned colt was reversing Prix Du Jockey Club form with Planteur, who had finished second in the race, with Behkabad fourth. Coral reacted to the win by halving his price to 10-1 (from 20) for the Arc, which was confirmed as a likely target by the owener's racing manager Georges Rimaud.
