Brittlyn Stable’s Beanwah’smachine kept his perfect record intact with his fourth victory in as many starts when he captured Saturday’s colt and gelding division of the $103,290 Louisiana Futurity.

“He appears to have come out of yesterday’s race just fine,” said Pam Fitzgerald, assistant to trainer Al Stall Jr. during training hours Sunday morning.

In similar fashion, Stuart Clilverd, assistant to trainer David Carroll, reported that David Randal’s Capetown Devil apparently emerged unscathed following his neck tally in Saturday’s mile and 70-yard allowance $50,000 optional claiming event for 2-year-old “non-winners-other-than” – a possible precursor of the series leading up to the $1,000,000 Louisiana Derby April 1.

“David won’t be back until Tuesday,” said Clilverd, “so I’m not in a position to say what the plans are, but (Capetown Devil) seems well. I thought he looked a little tired right after the race yesterday but he surprised me because he had a little bit of a ‘squeal’ to him when he walked this morning.”
