It's not exactly the Coast-to-Coast Pick 5, but the Bayou-Bluegrass Pick 5 is likely to present a similarly good betting opportunity.

As Mark Midland detailed in a February article for Horse Racing Nation, the multi-track multi-race wagers pay very well relative to the winners' odds. With the Bayou-Bluegrass Pick 5 following similar parameters with the $1 minimum and 15 percent takeout, there is reason to think its payout will exceed expectations.

Ed DeRosa joins Midland to discuss the sequence, which begins at 5:04 p.m. ET with the New Orleans Classic (G2), the ninth race at Fair Grounds. It continues with the Bourbonette Oaks at Turfway, the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) at Fair Grounds, Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) at Turfway and concludes with the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds. That is five stakes races in less than two hours.

The pair gives special attention to the pair of Kentucky Derby prep races and discuss the strategy of the $1 pick 5. DeRosa sees the New Orleans Classic and Jeff Ruby Steaks as the races he wants to lean on while Midland is more bullish on his Fair Grounds Oaks tabs.
