Elizabeth Gore’s Babybluesbdancing headlines a field of six 3-year-old state-bred fillies in the $65,000 Rolling Meadows Overnight Stakes on Monday, Sept. 4 at Arlington International Racecourse. Trained by Terrel Gore, the daughter of Sky Mesa was a seven-length winner of the Purple Violet Stakes at Arlington on June 3 going a mile on the Polytrack. She will be shortening up for the seven furlong Rolling Meadows which will also be run on the main track. The winner of the 2016 Pat Whitworth Illinois Debutante Stakes finished second two starts back in the Grade III Iowa Oaks at Prairie Meadows on July 6 before settling for fourth in the Grade III Monmouth Oaks on Aug. 12. She will break from post five with Julio Felix in the irons, who has been aboard for all four of her career wins.

Babybluesbdancing will face some familiar rivals, including V-Leaf Stables and Richard Ravin’s stakes-placed Shezahotmama. The Larry Rivelli trainee will break from the rail under Santo Sanjur. In gate two will start Royalty Farms’ Al Ali-trained Royalty Princess with C. H. Marquez, Jr. aboard. Scott Becker sends out William Stiritz’s Saturday’s Song to break from gate three under Chris Emigh, while Jose Valdivia, Jr. will ride Darrell and Sadie Brommer’s Tannah’blu from post four for Chris Block. Richard Otto Stables’ lightly-raced Jolee, fourth in the Illinois Debutante last year, will be piloted by Pedro Cotto, Jr. for trainer Anthony Mitchell from the outside gate in post six.

JEAN ELIZABETH LEANING TOWARDS LASSIE

V-Leaf Stables, Richard Ravin and Larry Rivelli’s debut winner Jean Elizabeth, victorious at Arlington on Aug. 19 by three lengths under Julio Felix, is being pointed toward the Arlington-Washington Lassie on Sept. 9 according to Rivelli. The 2-year-old daughter of Adios Charlie led a field of state-bred maidens gate-to-wire in her debut after a light work pattern.

“She doesn’t need much [in the mornings],” said Rivelli. “She got more out of that first race than anything. I didn’t think she was cranked but she won easy.”

Bred by Larry Rivelli and Richard Ravin, Jean Elizabeth is the fifth foal of dam Rooney Doodle, who has proved to be a strong producer of horses partial to the Polytrack at Arlington. Her first four offspring by two different stallions are all winners of multiple races on synthetic surfaces. The Lassie is contested at seven furlongs over the main track at Arlington.
